SKIN CONDITIONS

Treatments for skin conditions can be confusing as there can often be more than one treatment to use. As a dermatology nurse I am experienced in assessing, prescribing and advising people about how to use the creams and treatments. I can apply the treatments regularly or show how they need to be used. I am aware of the importance of finding out what you have used in the past, what treatments you have liked and disliked and then developing a treatment plan that is suitable and effective.

Eczema & Dermatitis

Eczema or dermatitis is inflammation of the skin that can occur anywhere on the skin. Eczema can be very itchy, disrupts sleep and affects other day to day activities. There are different types of eczema, and both adults and children can be affected. The treatments can be confusing and sometimes it seems that nothing makes it better, however specialist dermatology assessment, advice and treatments can help to improve and control the condition.
I am experienced in managing both children and adults with eczema or dermatitis and can offer treatment and advice. I can also show you how to apply your treatments if you have had treatments prescribed but are unsure how to use them.

Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that affects about 2% of the population. It often affects the elbows, knees and scalp but can occur anywhere on the skin. The patches can be itchy but are not always. Psoriasis can affect your day to day activities.
I am experienced in treating psoriasis and can offer advice and treatments. I can apply treatments on a regular basis or show you how to use your treatments most effectively.

Acne

Acne is a very common condition which can cause scars and is emotionally upsetting. It usually starts as a teenager and can persist into your twenties and sometimes beyond. It can affect the face, back, chest and upper arms. Some people find it embarrassing and it can also be sore.
I am experienced in treating people with acne and can offer treatment and advice.

Rosacea

Rosacea, sometimes also called acne rosacea, is a red rash that affects the face. There can be small reddened bumps, red areas and sometimes scaling. The skin often feels very sensitive.
I am experienced in treating rosacea and can offer treatments and advice.

Moles

I do not offer mole checks. If you have a mole that you are worried about please contact your GP or you may like to contact www.skinhealthuk.com for a review of your moles.
